Stewardship

Stewardship is the way we use all of our resources, including money, talents and time, to carry on Christ's work of reconciliation in the world. Stewardship is about supporting our mission and ministry, living into a vision of mission in a concrete way.

Stewardship Statement

The Vestry and Clergy of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church

We believe in a generous, loving, and self-giving God.

We believe that:

  • We are invited into a relationship with God.
  • All that we are and all that we have comes from God.
  • God's gifts are given to each of us to use in ways that contribute to God's own purpose.
  • Christ longs to set us free from our self-centered bonds and restore us to life-giving relationships with God, each other, and all creation.

We commit ourselves to these pursuits:

  • Seeking Jesus as the one who revitalizes and transforms us.
  • Discerning God's desire for our lives through the holy habits of daily prayer, study, weekly worship, sabbath, tithing, and other intentional spiritual practices.
  • Living enthusiastically, generously sharing ourselves (all that we are) and our gifts from God (all that we have) to be instruments of God's reconciling love in the world.

We pledge ourselves to dare to imagine, initiate, and create ministries that are outward and visible signs of God's kingdom on earth.

We invite all to join us in this lifelong, joyful, transforming, and liberating response to God's call.
